Between Two Worlds

This editorial shares my journey of leaving Yemen, a home I never expected to lose, until war made it unsafe to stay. The sounds of daily life were replaced by explosions and fear, forcing me to leave behind family, culture, and everything familiar. Starting over in the USA, I faced the shock of displacement, the struggle to adapt, and the challenge of finding belonging between two worlds. Even in safety, the war follows me through worry for loved ones and memories of what was lost. This story is about both the pain of leaving and the strength it takes to build a new sense of home.
